How Do I Discipline My 3 Year Old? Author of 2 Parent Education Books Says "You've Got to Be Kidding Me."

Three year olds need calm and patient watching by the parent.
A long time ago, grandma would sit calmly on the park bench or in the living room, reading, knitting, or just sitting.
Here's a recipe for trouble: chocolate milk and a donut (or pop tart) for breakfast, then place child in a preschool or daycare with a bunch of other kids and supervised by a stranger. When the child is upset afterwards or acting out, become impatient, blame the child and discipline with time outs. Then let your patience run out and put the child on some amphetamine type prescription drug.
God help the children.
